What It Really Takes To Be A Fitness Model

Q: Is all the hard work, daily sacrifice, and dedication to becoming a fitness model worth it?

A: When I was 19 years old I was overweight, partying, and living a very unhealthy lifestyle with an uncertain future ahead of me. I worked out every day, but I never had visible abs or a physique that stood out, even though it was something I had always wanted.

At that time in my life I watched a lot of fitness training videos on YouTube, posted by models, and I hoped that I could have a physique similar to theirs one day, even though I never imagined that I could actually accomplish it!

After my first year of college I was unhappy, sick, and tired of the negative direction that my life was heading in. I decided that this was my chance to make my dreams a reality and that I’d rather “suffer the pain of discipline, than suffer the pain of regret.” From that day forward I gave it my all as I worked towards achieving my long-term dream of becoming a published fitness model and sponsored athlete!

For those of you looking to do the same, I have to tell you that this journey is not easy and it won’t happen overnight! It will take hours upon hours of sacrifice, daily practice, and consistent determination.

Thinking back now, four years later, and thousands of early morning workouts too, I have to say, it was worth it, and easily the best decision I’ve ever made. You only live once, so make sure you spend that time doing something you really love. If you’re willing to put in the time and effort and you can truly accomplish anything! If I did it, you can do it too!
